I have a Diamond Painting that I started a month ago. But I have not had the urge to work on it, the reason is that the symbols are very bad. Although some of them are very clear, others I can hardly make out what it is. This made me decide that I should get a light board, so I bought a light board. I have previously written about “Light board – should I get one?” and can now honestly say that yes, it really makes a huge different.

The light board I bought is of the brand “Junlon” and is size A3 (35.5 x 48.3 cm, 11.69 x 16.53 inches), it also has dimmable light. It has three different light settings and it is only 9 mm (about 0,35 inches) thick. The light board has a button where you start it and change which light setting you want. It runs on power and connects with a micro-USB socket in the light board. In addition, it is CE marked and has a 1 year warranty.

Where I bought it

I bought the light board from a Swedish shop named “Mattonbutiken“, and although it is more expensive than buying one from AliExpress or similar, I know it meets Sweden’s demands for electrical safety. Something that I think outweighs the price. Now I do not have to worry about it breaking or starting a fire because it is not properly manufactured. We have some rather hard safety rules in Sweden, and if the light board would start a fire in my apartment and it hasn’t the right marking that indicates it has fulfilled the safety regulations I wouldn’t get anything on my insurance.

The reason I choose an A3 size light board was to avoid having to move it all the time. Before I bought the light board, I used my iPad as a light board and I got annoyed that it was so small. I had to move it all the time it felt like, and felt that I needed a bigger one. I have attached my Diamond Painting with masking tape on the light board and then it has been no problem putting the drills on the canvas. It is even better that the painting I am working on now is as wide as the light board so I don’t have to move it much.

In conclusion, I just want to say that if you have a painting that you have lost interest in because the symbols is hardly visible. I say buy a light board, you will not regret it.
